Giving Back Fund Holds 8th annual Big Game Big Give Event at Super Bowl

HOUSTON - The Giving Back Fund held its eighth annual Super Bowl charity event, called Big Game Big Give, Saturday night.

The event, which was hosted by Academy Award nominee Josh Brolin, was held at the estate of Lisa and Michael Holthouse and was emceed by David Schwimmer.

Saturday night was the first time the charity event included a big-name after-party, with a performance by Common and a celebrity poker tournament, hosted by Michael Phelps and World Series of Poker champion Jamie Gold and emceed by Rob Riggle.

The winners of the poker tournament received six months of private coaching by Gold and a seat at the Main Event of World Series Poker. The top 20 players were also awarded a custom BBO Poker Table, which will be autographed by the celebrities they played alongside.

More than $1 million was raised by auctioning off items like an NBA All-Star weekend extravaganza, a walk-on role in "George and Tammy" -- Brolin's upcoming film starring Jessica Chastain -- tickets to the Hollywood premiere of "Avengers: Infinity Wars," jewelry, high-end designer bags and sports memorabilia to name a few.

“It was such an honor to host the eighth annual Big Game Big Give fundraising event this year,” Brolin said. “Super Bowl weekend is something that I look forward to every year, and I am so glad that I was able to be a part of something really special and help support the amazing work that The Giving Back Fund does.”

The Giving Back Fund is a national nonprofit organization that facilitates charitable giving by professional athletes, celebrities, high-net worth individuals, existing nonprofit organizations, corporations and others who want to give back.
